This first artifact is a portion of a recording of myself singing "Tornami a vagheggiar" from Handel's Alcina for a masterclass at SongFest. The instructor, Frances Young, focuses on character development inside this 17th century aria. This segment represents the kind of work done at SongFest, especially because our focus on character communication. Unfortunately, video was not available, yet it is clear from the recording that communication via music was taking place. Though this specific class focused on aria, we would perform the same sort of analyses on character development within an art song.
This second artifact contains the poster, program notes, and Pan Pipes SAI Magazine published article for the CCM Composer Concert, an event created in-part to celebrate all I had learned at SongFest. This is a picture of some of the women musicians involved in the process. SongFest inspired me to innovate this new tradition at CCM.

This third artifact segment contains the program notes, poster, and recording I created during my Capstone Recital Project. The music chosen for the recital, the type of poster, and information provided in recital program notes were largely based on the information I learned at SongFest. I was inspired to create a themed recital because of all that I learned at SongFest, which was risky for an undergraduate performer. Finally, this artifact also includes a recording of myself performing Libby Larsen's Cowboy Songs during my Capstone Recital Project. I coached these pieces with the composer herself and was honored to perform them on my recital.
